SPRAY SHIELDS

Spray Shields, also known as Spray Covers, Flange Guards or Flange Covers, are an important protective product suited to protect workers, property, and equipment by preventing dangerous spray-outs, hazardous leaks of corrosive fluids such as acids, oils and steam. They are effective in reducing inspections costs, maintenance costs and downtime in factories or plants by early leak detection and the ability to temporarily contain and limit hazardous leaks and sprays. Shields or covers are widely used on pipe joints, fittings, elbows, tees, valves, and strainers for most possible pipeline safety.

 

Our Spray shields are made from PVC, or woven glass fibre with a thermal treatment and Teflon coating which makes these covers very flexible but relatively strong.

 

This material is particularly designed for thermal cycling and harsh chemical application with sintered Teflon PTFE Surface with excellent barrier properties. For ease of visibility, our shields are manufactured with a clear strip of FEP or ECTFE in the centre of shield, directly over the joint of piping or fitting making it perfect to visually see a leak that might begin. 

 

The material is difficult to rip, UV and weather resistant. One size of spray shield guard will fit a range of flange configurations including Van Stone (Rotating) and welded flange configurations.

 

Flange Spray Shields are very easy to fit, they are wrapped around the periphery of the flange then held in place with Velcro fasteners. Finally, the tie cords are pulled tight to provide a snug fit to the pipe and tied with a knot. The loose ends should not be cut but tucked in so that the guard can be reused in the future.
